Oh man, Ive been an official member since May and I just discovered this thread...Im a complete amature.

Anyway, hey all, great to be here. Since I joined this forum my sf/f book stack has grown fearsomely...never knew what a "to read" pile was until experiencing it first hand.

Hey Zorobnice, I've been to your city once and loved it. Definately one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Hi everyone.

I'm a pretty big reader and my interests lie mainly in horror but I'm branching out to fantasy. I've only read Tolkien so far.

Some of my favorite authors are: Jack Ketchum, Edward Lee, Stephen King, Clive Barker, Poppy Z. Brite, and J.R.R. Tolkien.

My favorite kind of films are epic battles (Gladiator, Braveheart, Lord of the Rings) and horror films. But I also enjoy all other platforms of cinema.

My main focus in life is bodybuilding. I only started a little while ago but I've lost 17lbs already and am doing great. It's really changing my life around for the better.

Thanks for having me!

Hello World!

Hello to all,

my first post as a new member, so may I say 'hi' and I hope to get to know some of you better as times passes.

I've been reading Science Fiction and Fantasy since the early 70s, starting with Borrough's 'A Princes of Mars', Garner's 'The Weirdstone of Brisingamen' and Tolkein's 'The Hobbit', though I have enjoyed 'Alice in Wonderland' and many others as a younger child. I have very happy memories of my father reading to me each night before going to sleep. Has any one here read Margaret Storey's books about Timothy and the witch Melinda?

I now have a couple of thousand books on my shelves - more than some on here, less than others I would guess! I recently bought someone's collection of SF books, nearly 400, and now have to find more space for them! I only ended up with about 100 duplicates, so a 75% success rate :)

Best wishes to all,

Christopher

Welcome Chrostopher, good to have you, your long years of reading will be a benefit to us.

Cheers
Zee :)

It occurs to me that I never introduced myself (just found this thread...duh)

Like you Gina I also never introduced myself and only just came across this thread!! My name is Caroline, I am from the West of Ireland. I've been reading fantasy since I was a tot and used to love Enid Blyton's "The Enchanted Tree" when I was very young. I read anything I can get my hands on really, be it YA or Adult Fantasy it doesn't bother me as long as it's written well! I love this site, even though I don't post very often I love being able to log on and check out the various threads and reccomendations! I think my "to be read" pile has trippled since I joined this site. Everyone is really friendly here and offers great advice. I look forward to getting to know more of you and for now i'll say Slan go Foill ( goodbye in Gaeilge;))

[ADMIN EDIT: Sorted out your double posting problem, Ondine! Hobbit]

Hello Tiffany Little. But why are you so  angry?
I was mad earlier but not so much anymore i have just had a bad day and can not wait for it to be over. At my school there is to much drama and people try to start crap with you all the time and it is really starting to get on my last nerve. they can't understand that there is more to life out there than making trouble. they ruin peoples life to make them feel and seem more important.
