Mee too a bit....I've got a story pulled from the 'in progress' that might fit, but....struggling with getting anything written this week....

I second Kenny, R.J., and Facing, however, I think I have an inkling of a story brewing in my head. But, in times like these, I just gotta see where my writing takes me.

My mantra: There is no such thing as "wrong" in writing. The only wrong thing you can do is not write. Writing builds on itself with each draft, and before you know it, you'll come out with something amazing!

Wow, here I was thinking fiction didn't require much research. This story I'm working on is actually requiring a lot more research than I bargained for! But it's all fascinating. Endeavor wants to get on with the writing already!

I was doing the dishes today and listening to some good old eighties metal (a priceless combination) and there it was, an idea for a story. Yay!

Yeah, it was actually on national news here today, but I hadn't seen any pics,
and it does feel like some great source material for a story...but it has to be in the horror/fantasy genre.... maybe?

Google McClure's Maganize. It's such a vivid and captivating historic magazine that is a window into the late 1800s and 1900s, with a focus of investigative reporting. This was the outlet where bold, emerging voices such as Rudyard Kipling and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and many other greats we look back on today, submitted their stories and got their names out there. All quality writing, unlike anything today.

Well, I've been hard at work this week; I started a new story on Tuesday, and I've spent two or three hours every night working on it. I even came up with a title today that's almost a bit too perfect, a bit too metal. . .

The bad news: I did something drastic on Monday; in a fit of anger I broke the screen of my laptop. I was playing a video game and I had a ragequit to end all ragequits.

I think once property damage occurs, you really have to reconsider some of your life choices. So, I'm retiring from video games. Forever.

Honestly though, I'm glad it happened. PC games were robbing me of my desire to do anything productive; it was a serious problem. I've written more this week than I have in the last seven months, just using pen and paper and doing away with technological distractions.

I'll probably have to rewrite my story and upload it with my phone which will be a bit of pain, but for now I'm just happy to be back in the swing of things.

Good for you @norm , I can relate.

I have an interesting setup on my little mini laptop. It's too slow to play any games, but perfect for writing. Too slow for windows even, so I installed Linux on it. I guess I'm blessed in this way. Still, gotta fight off those pesky distractions (phone, tablet, etc.)
