Need help remembering a Movie or TV show? Ask here.

I know I didn't make this up...what is this strange movie?

Hello all. Hopefully you can help me. This is a long shot, because the "movie" is probably very old. I saw it in my kindergarten class in 1990, and it scared me, haha. It was run on a two-reel projector (DEFINITELY old school!). My teacher had to play the audio track on a cassette player separately from the film. Like I said, SUPER old.
It was about trolls, gnomes, or fairies...it's been a long time and since I was terrified I didn't watch it all. The movie was either claymation or puppetry, and it was supposed to be a fun children's film that told a bunch of different stories about various creatures and legends. One was a troll that carried her head under her arm. Another was about a gnome that lived in your mouth and used a pick-axe on your teeth to make a home for himself (and cavities for you!). I seem to remember there were good and bad creatures. Each had their own story; none interacted with another. It was simply a "look at this troll, here's the story...done! Move on to the next" kind of films. The music was creepy orchestra too.
If this post is in the wrong place, maybe you could direct me to somewhere else that might have a clue what I'm talking about? I've done general google and youtube searches for hours on end, trying to catch a glimpse of this film. I figured maybe someone here from the Fantasy dept. might be able to help me in my quest. I wish I knew how old the film was...but it definitely wasn't recent (no 80s or 90s). Since it was puppets or claymation, I'm thinking maybe 60s or 70s? It was in color too.
Ack. Please help me! Thank you.

Hey Magmolicious, I have no clue what you are looking for, but it sounds neat. If you find it, please do come back and let us know. Good luck! :)

This one's driving me crazy...

I'm trying to remember the name of an obscure, cheesy 80's fantasy/sci-fi movie (the best kind!); all I can remember of it is the main character is transported from our world to a fantasy realm, where he teams up with a blue-skinned (possibly green-skinned?) elflike hunter who has a rifle that uses berries filled with compressed air to fire some kind of needles or darts. Not a lot to go on, but hopefully somebody out there knows what I'm talking about!

I'm trying to remember a show I watched as a kid, and this forum seems to be the place for help. I watched it in the mid 90's, but I'm not sure when it was actually made. It featured actual kids and two fuzzy humanoid puppets - one pink and one blue (the puppets may have been brother and sister, they argued some), and at some point they all sang the "kids got the beat" song. They maybe ran a tv show or a radio station? I remember them setting up some sort of studio in the opening sequence. Any help would be greatly appreciated, every couple of years I try to find this and I haven't had any luck yet. Thanks!

Hey, as the thread indicates i also need help remembering a movie. All I remember is the main character was a man who was appointed to clean some kind of futuristic building. While doing that he sees a (blonde?) woman inside. She is kept inside with many others and is doing research on DNA or something. However they somehow fall in love as he sneaks into the building through a vent. She desperately wants to escape the tower(?) with him. Halfway there she is suffering from a desease and dies ultimately. An AI or someone tells him that all the humans in the building suffer from uncurably disease and they can only survive inside.
So that's what i remember. Would be nice if someone could help me out.

I have a very vague memory of this but I think the name of the film was "Night of the Hunted". I'm pretty sure Jean Rollins directed it. As I recall the people held in the building were exposed to a neural toxin which causes an accelerated memory loss sort of like Alzheimer's except the victims were all young. When the doctor's are unable to find a cure they kill the patients off in an effort to avoid a scandal. The blonde woman you mention actually manages to escape for a brief time where the man picks her up at the side of the road. She is recaptured and her new boyfriend is determined to save her, or something like that. Everyone dies at the end, how depressing! :(

I'm looking for the name of a film I hired from a Video Rental back in the late 80's early 90's as a kid.

The film was a Sci Fi. From the vague recollections I have it starts with a spaceship being attacked by some sort of red pulse weapon. The ship survived but nearly everyone aboard died.

I think the hero then boards the ship and finds a survivor and then the next thing I remember is they end up on a strange planet where he meets more people.

At the "good guys" then launch an attack on their enemies base in ships that were like missiles holding a few people in each carrier. The 1st wave fails but then the hero attacks the base and somehow they win.

As I say my recollections are pretty vague but hopefully someone can help me out. Thanks.

That would be the incredibly brilliant Starcrash starring Marjoe Gortner, Caroline Munro, Christopher Plummer, David Hasselhoff, and the great Joe Spinell.

Hi.

I'm searching for a tv - show I used to watch in the 90's (mid to late) but I have no idea what it was called.

It wasn't a long series and it was set in medieval england (or around that time) centered around a rich family of siblings who have to hide in the forest. The oldest brother (kind of good looking) falls in love with a woman, but her family is against it.

I believe it was english, set in England, but I can't remember if any well - known english actors where in it. There is a scene in it where the oldests love interst tries to shoot him with a rifle/rifel but because the gunpowder is wet, it can't fire.

If anyone has ANY idea what this show was called please let me know.

Thanks

Here goes nothing! I've been searching for an 80's children's show set in a library or book store (I think). I believe the idea was that they'd read stories together. It featured a combination of live action and animation, with regular people as hosts and an animated character who would pop up for chats. This character looked like an amorphous humpty dumpty: white, blob-like, with thin arms and legs and a tuft of black hair. He had a tendency to dramatically fall off the counter at times. Terrifying actually. As a child I was simultaneously fascinated and terrified by this animated blob man. It aired in Australia in the 80's but could have been American or British. Any help would be much appreciated!!

On Netflix there is a movie from what I think I can remember of it there is murder or something happening at a College or University and it's getting covered up. It's not any of the Skulls movies.
I want to find out what this movie is because I'm a sucker for movies that have murder in them, and the cover up.

Can't remember a movies title but I keep getting it mixed up with Blade Runner

Anyone remember a circa 1980s R rated SCI-FI movie about a city on a moon or planet inside a sealed environment (biosphere). I think it was a mining city but not sure. Inside the city there were markets, prostitutes, drugs and all kinds of inner city small capitalist market activity. I believe the police were robots or cyborgs. Seems like three main characters - two guys and a girl (of course) and one of them could talk to the police and alter the response of the police - like make them repeat an order and thus save the main characters from getting captured. In one scene near the end theres a fight and the main bad guy is pushed outside the protective environment onto the surrounding desert. Once outside the bad guy slowly expands till he explodes from the lack of atmosphere. There were some big time actors in this - The main bad guy had a cowl over half his face and has crooked teeth and is kinda a small creepy type villain I think. Any ideas?

"The Bookplace" ? The amorphous humpty dumpty was the bookworm?

I remember a movie very similiar to what you are describing. I think it was called Outland and starred Sean Connery as a newly appointed Marshal of a deep space mining colony on a moon or asteroid. The colony itself was corrupt and the people running it were pushing illegal drugs that increased productivity but eventually killed the users through the addiction. The Marshal's officers had been paid off to look the other way but Connery being the good guy stands up to them. Sort of like High Noon in outer space!

A movie where Rodney Dangerfield argues with an economics professor about the costs of building a factory
