LOL Radone Edge is making a serious difference this year, he averages within a gnats balls of 100 yards a game and that seems to be taking some of the heat off Manning and also means he isn't throwing so many 50/50's.

He is an MVP that the Giants pretty much shut down. Tiki outplayed him IMV.

I dunno about that, Alexander got the vital touchdown with that bump and spin move plus he posted well over a 100 yards again, even against a team that really got to him on the outside. The dude can't stop scoring td's.

Alexander did get the TD, but Tiki ripped the Seahawks for 159 yards, with an over 50 yard gash that should have set up the gamewinning FG.

I'm sure Seattle fans never expected Tiki's performance to be even close to Alexander's, and I'm equally sure that most of them don't want to see the Giants again soon. On the other hand, most Giant fans think we gave Seattle that game, and we won't make those same mistakes next time.

Seattle coach Mike Holmgren said Monday that the league took the rare step of admitting officiating mistakes in the game Sunday. The league said in a statement released Tuesday that reports that it told the Seahawks of officiating mistakes on the two touchdown receptions were inaccurate.

"Our officiating department never discussed with the Seahawks the Amani Toomer touchdown reception, which was properly called," the statement said. "The Jeremy Shockey touchdown catch at the end of the first half was not overturned because the referee determined that there was insufficient visual evidence to reverse the call."

On Monday, when asked whether he had heard from the league on the two Giants touchdown calls, he said he was told "there were some mistakes that took place, which we felt at the time."

The Seahawks said Tuesday neither Holmgren nor the team had further comment on the matter. A league official declined further comment Tuesday.

Holmgren said he expected the league to fine him for breaching its confidentiality agreement between teams and the NFL officiating department regarding on-field decisions. The 14-year NFL head coach is one of eight members of the league's competition committee that oversees rules and game operations.

"Now, because of the potential fines, my kids won't get Christmas stockings," Holmgren said, laughing.

His four daughters need not worry, of course: Holmgren is earning $4.5 million this year.

Holmgren said Monday he was told by game officials there wasn't enough indisputable visual evidence to overturn either touchdown.

Coaches routinely send video of plays they believe were incorrectly called to the league. Each week, the officiating department reviews them and sends a confidential response -- but it's usually nothing more than an apology, because results aren't changed.

Those communications are normally not made public, though Holmgren has disclosed them before without a league response."

The "truth" is Mike should know better. He's on the oversight committee, and he obviously knows the rules. "BooHoo I won but I still want to whine and complain".

Anyone who has seen the catch on replay knows it was a great catch and a TD. Amani is a lot better than people think, he is the Giants all time leading receiver.

There is a better arguement against the Shockey catch, but the fact is they did not have a replay that showed conclusive evidence of his second foot coming down in the endzone. Refs have a better view, play stands.

Besides, the Giants could raise just as many complaints with the officials, Shockey had a catch overturned in OT that meant 16 yards added on to one of Feeley's missed FG's, and in the first half Toomer was mugged on deep sideline pass that ended up being intercepted! The radio guys were all over it, as were several Giants fans at the game, but Fox did not show the play.(Nor could it be overturned, but it shows the refs show no preference towards the Giants for sure.)

The past is past but I must agree that the Giants-Seahawks match had more questionable decisions by the refs than most other matches this year - for both sides. I would like to thank Feely for missing those fg's, though, as it meant I won 100 dollars. Thanks, Jay!

I also caught the Pats-Chiefs game. The Chiefs had it in the bag, but Brady is extremely good at coming back. He had a promising drive ending in an interception (those four are the reason they lost) and a td throw which was just too high for the receiver. They'll probably win their division anyway, though. The Chiefs offense looked good, especially Green-Gonzalez.

3 of Brady's interceptions were too high. They bounced off the hands of the receivers and into the opposition's hands. He was throwing too high in a previous game too. Not sure what the problem is. The other interception he threw behind a receiver, or into a place where only the other team was.

The Pats could win the division, but, both Miami and Buffalo have some life and could be a problem for the Pats. I think the Jets are too far gone, but none of the teams in the division are ever easy for each other, regardless of how bad their records are. I almost want the Pats to miss the playoffs because they are so bad that I can't see them surviving long.

We might have our 2 running backs returned from injury soon, Kevin Faulk and Cory Dillon. Of course BB won't admit to anything so they are 'day to day'.

15 years later, the Bengals finally have a winning season! It's still too early to retire the Bungles because they still could prove themselves paper tigers by losing their last 4 in a row. But, hope is finally starting to bloom in the Jungle that maybe, finally, the Bengals will come out of the desert and rejoin the NFL.
Indy still rolls but they've got three tough games in a row. I don't think they're going to run the table. All they need is one win, and against a Jags team without Leftwich, they could easily get it this week. Then they've locked up home field through the playoffs. I think Peyton and the boys will get to play maybe a half of football a game and sit the rest of the time.
Seahawks are really looking tough. I'm not sold on the Bears at all. Not until they actually score an offensive touchdown. Plus, the Bengals absolutely rolled them in the beginning of the season, and I don't think they've really faced a decent offense since then.

Chicago's defense certainly looks incredible, but one has to wonder how much of that is from beating up on weak teams in their division. I also agree that as long as Orton is their QB and they can't put up more than 14 points a game, they look in trouble for the playoffs.

Man its so nice to have a defense! Our defensive Front 7 is playing on a level of defense with anyone right now. Osi is being compared with Deacon Jones, Strahan looks 5 years younger and sleeker and both are now attracting double teams! And that means, someone else is going to be unblocked, and with the 2 Kendricks, and the very impressive rookie Justin Tuck, and soon to be back William Joseph...well we are going to get your QB!!

Of course Eli has a lot to learn still, but with Tiki and the 3 great recievers, I think he's going to figure things out pretty quick! Starting this week against the Philthy-dirty-Iggles!

Yes Kater, the Iggles are that bad! McNabb, TO and Westbrook are done for the year, and the rest of the team is riddled with injurys. Of course I hate the Iggles, but that is my unbiased opinion.

SheHawks are pretty good, but the Giants will take them if they get matched up in the playoffs.

I only watched the first half of the Seahawks/Eagles -- couldn't see the point after that. Don't know how good the 'hawks really are, but the Eagles stink, and it couldn't happen to a better bunch of people.

In terms of the Cowboys: no matter what it looks like, if you rely on Drew Bledsoe, he will eventually break your heart.

It does look like young Manning also has 'it' and will be something to be recokoned with someday. Not sure it will be this year, but who knows.

Looks like the Steelers and the Chargers are in a bit of trouble.

Not sure that it really matters what the Pats do, cause they are probably going to win the AFC east. I think they have to go to Tampa Bay this weekend, and have a good chance of losing.

I can't help but dream that maybe when you beat a team you should get to pick through their roster and take any players that you want. Its one way to build a defense.

Bengals win a close one against the Browns. I was worried about this game because after last week's big win against the Steelers, I figured they were set up for a let down. This was, hopefully, a wake-up call.
What will Dungy do? Go for the 16-0 or let his starters only play a half of football the rest of the way to keep them healthy.
The Pats are starting to worry me. They look like they're rounding out into playoff/Super Bowl form after that pasting them put on the Bills. I'm hoping this doesn't reflect a tremendous improvement in the Pats but rather a significant drop-off in the Bills since they don't have a good offense or defense.

It's a tough call, common sense says to do what you suggest but how often do you get the chance at a perfect season? At the moment they aren't very beat-up, if the Jags game is anything to go by the Colts only need to put in two good quarters to win a game (although their last few games are fairly tough) so I think it will be more of the same for the time being. Only a bad injury is going to make them rethink imo. Bears got stuffed

Yes it is starting to look good. We do well in the snow and the cold, even against other cold weather teams. I thought it was Tampa, but it was Buffalo. I was so bummed about their season in general, that I ended up sleeping through the first half.

They were doing well when I woke up, and they did a good job. I was happy and surprised - just when you are about to give up on them. I was almost going to watch one of the SB or 3 Games to Glory DVDS rather than the real thing.

But to answer your question about the Bills, they are simply dogmeat. They lost a big lead in the final minutes to Miami the week before. I think one of their players was mouthing off in the press, then one of their stars was late to practice/meeting and was suspended without pay by the team for one game. Just a whole week of turmoil. Losman is still green and shaky, and Curtis Martin is out for the rest of the season. They were talking about how they had problems, and then were just shooting themselves on top of it. So they aren't a good team, but they had a credible defense before the last 2 weeks I think.

We seemed to finally gel on defense. Hobbs is making plays like Gay was last year. I just hope that we can carry the momentum into the last 3 games. We have Tampa which is the only passable team, and then the Jets and Miami at home. Miami can be tough, but not in Foxboro in January.

I saw the Browns and the Bengals were close. Of course I wanted the Browns to win because of Romeo.

I was very pleasantly surprised by Dallas and Drew, not folding under the pressure.

I think that Dungy should play his people to keep their momentum going, but I hope he doesn't. If we get in, and get past the first game then we will end up in Indy and I would much rather they be rusty and flat-footed like the Philly requlars in the SB last year.
