What is 'American History X' ?

I have seen several people in different movie threads mention it, but I don't ever remember hearing about it at the movies here.

1 StarWars ( all movies )
2 The Last Samurai
3 Half Past Dead
4 Lord of the Rings ( Two towers and Return of the King)
5 Open Range
6 Resident Evil
7 Exorcist ( the originol )
8 Scary Movie ( 2 )
9 Terminator ( 1,2,3)
10 Minority Report

Thanks for the help with American History X. Not my cup of tea. I want escapism and entertainment from my movies, not heavy social messages.

I also have no idea who Ed Norton is, other than Ralph Cramden's stupid side-kick.

I don't see many movies so I have no idea who the new actors are.

Ed Norton made an incredible debut as a murder suspect with multiple personality disorder opposite Richard Gere (in one of his best performances) in Primal Fear.

He is an amazing actor.

That and the guy's good movie list just goes on and on. You've got the People Vs. Larry Flynt, Fight Club, The Score, he's been doggin' it a bit the last few years but really Edward Norton is one of the best out there today if you ask me.

Well that explains why I don't know him, you couldn't pay me to see any of those films. :) Don't like dark, heavy, nasty films - unless it is not like real life: some horror, SF/F films, Thrillers, Period Films. I want something uplifting in a movie, not something that will be depressing. Life is real enough, without wallowing in it. Don't mind books that are like that, but I don't want movies like that.

Wow, difficult question
Well like almost everybody else, i can´t possibly pick my 10 fav. But I´ll try (no order) :

LOTR ( who doesn´t like that ;) )
Finding Nemo
Ice Age

From Hell ( only because it´s such an interessting story, the movie itself could have been better)
Twister (1)

In no particular order as choosing my 10 top movies was hard enough

- Lord of the Rings Trilogy
- Boondock Saints
- Spirited Away
- Princess Mononoke
- Clue (yes... it's my guilty pleasure ever since i can remember)
- Monty Python and the Holy Grail
- Donnie Darko

I know my choices might not seem to be awe inspiring films to some, but I know I can be in any mood whatsoever and be willing to watch any one of these films at any time heh
