TV Series or Show You're Watching

Current Watching:

I have watched Season 1 before, but started again (I don't remember anything about it anyway.) Not a slog, but keeping going because I understand it gets better later.....
I started watching this because I had just finished Lost and this also has Michael Emerson in it. Unfortunately it wasn't of interest to me so I didn't watch more than the first two episodes.

I like Emerson a lot. The first season so far is.... OK. I'm watching because I'm told it gets better. We'll see!

I just started watching The Dresden Files TV Series which I found on the free Tubi Streaming Service. This is of course adapted from the books by Jim Butcher. There seems to only be one season which premiered in 2007. Harry Dresden is portrayed by Paul Blackthorne. Seems like a decent attempt, but given the amount and generally high regard for the source material, it seems like it should have made it for more than a single season. The first episode is pretty interesting, and serves as a backstory for Harry as well as an adventure when he protects a gifted child (like he was) from dark forces.

Thought Paul Blackthorne was good, but the changing of Bob from the books was a disappointment. Realise that it would have been done for budgetry reasons, though, no doubt. Surprising to think that the series is nearly 20 years old!!

I breezed through Walking Dead series 5 and am now well into series 6, but I think series 5 was my favourite so far. I absolutely love this program. It reminds me of a really good SF novel, with just the right balance of hectic scenes and suspiciously calm passages, fantastic - even beautiful - settings, believable character development and (mostly) very good dialog. The special effects are particularly noteworthy and the continued use of analog film cameras is the icing on the cake.

My wife and were huge fans until Season 7. Over the subsequent next 2 seasons, we just kind of lost interest.

I’m watching Season 2 of Monarch Legacy of Monsters on AppleTV, and it’s pretty good. There’s a new creature, Titan X, that seems to have been released into the world by the actions of the Monarch team (shown above). There’s some cool timey wimey stuff occurring involving the two Russells. Then there’s another team working at cross purposes to Monarch. That’s a lot of stuff going on, which leads to some exciting episodes.
