What games are you playing?

Started The Sly Collection and it's surprisingly good. I was a bit worried about it (and Sly 4) after Sucker Punch decided to focus on inFamous, but Sanzaru did a decent job. Looking forward to Sly 4 once again.:)

Also saw there's a game called Hard Reset coming out in September (and the first info came out just a few days ago?) that I'm really hyped about. It's a PC exclusive (remember those?), single player only and the dev, Flying Wild Hog, is made out of CD Projekt Red and People Can Fly developers. CDPR+PCF? Awesome.:D

Cthulhu saves the World It's a fun, lightheated RPG in the style of old Final Fantasy (4/5) games. Pretty fun, with some nice banter with the narrator thrown in for good measure.

Picked up NCAA 12. I'm a pretty big college football fan and seeing Osceola plant the spear is pretty awesome as a Seminole fan.

usually I buy Madden one year, and then NCAA the next, and this year it's college footballs turn. Unfortunately I have to get it imported to the UK.

Is it any good, Quimby?

It's not bad. The changes are pretty minimal from last year. The intros for all the teams are cool. The Dynasty and Road to Glory are pretty good. You can also tweak the conferences, however, I haven't done that yet. I see 4 super conferences in my future though.

With the game play I find it is easier to run than pass. For the most part your lineman and wrs do a better job of blocking and that will lead to some big runs. That was rarely the case in NCAA10(I assume that is the latest version you have going by your post) especially with the WRs. For some reason you can't throw the ball over LBs which is a bit annoying. It also looks like the players are ice skating in the game. I remember thinking the same with last year's ncaa and madden as well.

I tried to hunt down NCAA after reading your post yesterday, and the cheapest I can get it is for around $75 (assuming the rate is still 1.5, as it's £49) which is a little more than I'm willing to pay, so I may stick with Madden...

I do fancy some college action though...

I came home to find Fable III and Hunted: The Demon's Forge - Special Edition on the doormat today. Fable 3 has blue-screened twice, and Hunted looks a bit ugly, but plays OK.

They'll keep me going for a short while.

I never had a problem with Fable III save a bit of a lag when I'd zoom out of the map screen too quickly.

How is Hunted?

What little I played was OK. I think it's going to be a very average game, though, but that's almost to be expected. I've not played it much, if at all, since that post, however. I'll give it a whirl this week as Fable 3 is intent on blue screening every so often, so I'll let you know soon.

Hippokrene, I'm not sure if you still want to know about Hunted (I'm sorry for not getting around to it), but I thought I'd just update this. I've gotten another hour or two into it, and my thoughts are that it's rather average. It's both good and bad looking, it's either too bright or too dark, the combat isn't terrible but it's not great (Although I like the archery) and the character design is a bit boring. You've got the scantily clad elf female, some butch bald guy, and a pale lady in black leather and a good dose of jiggle physics on the two ladies. If you see it for cheap, pick it up, but don't pay full price for it.

I'm still half-playing Fable 3, but I'm just not feeling it much now. I'm still in the first half of the game, though, but I'm swamped with quests and the UI isn't as helpful as I'd like it to be.

I've had Hunted since release. It's still on my shelf, wrapped in plastic. You guys haven't inspired me to take it down anytime soon :)

The dialogue is fairly good, in that it's a bit sarcastic and doesn't take itself too seriously, but... I don't know. The voice acting is good, the writing is good, but the visuals just feel both generic and dull. So far I've run through dungeon-type things, a town at night and that sort of stuff, and it's just rather dark to the point of being irritating at times. But when you come into the daylight (As you are in most of the prologue), the lighting goes to the other end of the scale in that it's too bright and artificial in that way only American games seem to manage (Never had that problem in European games, oddly).

If you've got it, give it a spin, because it is worth it for the voice acting and dialogue alone. Just don't expect super stellar gameplay nor the prettiest visuals, because you will be disappointed. I've heard the game called Gears of Warcraft, and it's the most apt description I can think of.

Playing Portal 2 - good fun (and uses the brain a bit too which is good!)

Preorders coming up:

Battlefield 3
Gears of War 3
Next Modern Warfare installment.

I love my 1st person shooters!

And third person ones too, going by Gears of War ;)

Portal 2 was good, but it wasn't as taxing as Portal, IMHO.

And third person ones too, going by Gears of War ;).

Yeah you're right.

I find that nearly all 3rd person shooters don't gel with me, whereas 1st person's do, but I do like the Gears of War games and my brain automatically lumped it into 1st person.

Portal 2's a lot prettier too.

I'm currently playing through the original Deus Ex in anticipation of Deus Ex: Human Revolution! Anyone else preorder it yet?

I have Human Revolution preordered too, one of my most anticipated games of the year. Lets hope it's more like the original, than the second one!:D
Looking at what's still coming this year, I'm really worried for my social life. Arkham City, the Metal Gear HD Collection, Human Revolution and especially Uncharted 3 and Dark Souls will take a loooooot of my time.:o

I didn't mind the 2nd, but Human Revolution seems to really be a spiritual successor to the 1st. Have you played around with the Sarif Industries site at all? There's a feature that lets you add augmentations to your photo.

I picked up Batman: Arkham Asylum for 7.50 on Steam a couple weeks ago and I'm still floored. What an amazing achievement in the field of Batmanism. Probably the best superhero game I've ever played (it's really only even contested by that Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Rampage or whatever it was called in my book).

I've also been playing a ridiculous amount of Shogun 2: Total War. The Total War series hasn't let me down yet!
