What games are you playing?

I picked up Batman: Arkham Asylum for 7.50 on Steam a couple weeks ago and I'm still floored. What an amazing achievement in the field of Batmanism. Probably the best superhero game I've ever played (it's really only even contested by that Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Rampage or whatever it was called in my book).

And Arkham City due in a few months, which looks even better :D

It's the last time Mark Hamill will be voicing the Joker, sadly, and Arleen Sorkin won't be back for the lovely and bubbly Harley Quinn, so our "Mistuh Jay" comments will be coming from someone else.

Cannot wait for AC, though. Arkham Asylum was a staggeringly well-made title, and one of the few I've played that truly deserved "Game of the Year".

I don't know why Mark Hammill would slam the door on being the Joker. It's a pretty sweet gig doing voice work and it's not like people are sick of him doing it either.

Did I mention that I have Skyrim pre-rdered and The Old Republic pre-ordered? Oh man. . . I can't wait.

I've been playing a lot of Civilization V of late.

EDIT: I got to watch someone play TOR tonight. Someone close to me got taken on as a beta tester. Woot woot!

It's not that he's slamming the door, it's that he's done the role for a number of years and he's not exactly getting any younger. I'm not sure the exact reasons for him leaving, but he has said/implied that he's like to end on a high note, which is why he'd originally planned to stop with Arkham Asylum.

I supposed that makes sense but if I had a roll like that I would do it as long as someone was willing to pay me well enough I think.

Some actors are like that, others aren't. If he's stepping down to give another a chance then that's fair play.

I'm playing Mass Effect 2 on the PS3. I've sunk about 11 hours into it so far and I'm getting a sense of how epic the game is. I'm playing as the default Commander Shepard (Soldier class).

I've reached the point in my Shogun 2 campaign where if I take over one more province the Ashikaga Shogunate will ask all other daimyos to declare war on me, but my diplomacy is in such a shambles from playing Tokugawa and having been a vassal to the Imagawa for most of the game that no one will possibly take my side. It's not fair either because the Shimazu have taken over a third of the country but for some reason the Ashikaga don't seem concerned about ai despots. I think I will convalesce for a couple of years in game and build the armies I need to take on everyone else, and when the time comes my FIRST target will be the Ashikaga. Jerks.

Beautiful game, just recently played it too many times on my 360. Liked the first one, too, and especially the continuity of your saved game choices into the second game. Already licking my chops for the 3rd one in March, to see the dire consequences of my various saved game threads. :p

I enjoyed ME2 too. My femShep particularly liked renegade punching that journalist...what was her name again?

Anyone preorder ME3?

Dragon Age: Origins

Getting kind of frustrated with it right now. I've spent the past hour trying to kill an ogre.

I had a great time with that game.

I found that whenever I had a problem, all I usually had to do was adjust my tactics to better fit the situation. Or adjust my party. Which was one of the things I liked about the game. Some thought was sometimes required.

Plus, if it comes down to it, you can always lower the difficulty for the fight (in the settings) and then change it back when you're done.

Yeah, usually I just need to change my tactics. I've almost had the ogre a few times, but it always comes down to him chasing my circle mage around. All I need is just another hit or two and he would be dead, but if I stop and attack he finishes the mage off and I have to try again.

EDIT: Finally got him!

Been playing Shadow of the Damned. I've been enjoying it. You are a Mexican demon hunter with an English speaking demon gun trying to save your girlfriend who is in the demon world/hell and you have to shoot goats to light your way. Pretty fun.

Replaying Oblivion at the moment.

...I finished Tomb Raider Underworld. Again. I'm still a little confused by the storyline. Maybe Legend had a lot of build up, idk.

As for Dragon Age...bought Legacy for DAII. And there are bugs. What a surprise.

I just played the demo for the new 40K Space Marine game and I think it might be the most unapologetically violent game I've ever played. I'm probably going it to get it when they release the co-op campaign mode and play with some buds. (Actually probably my resolve will crumble and I"ll get it sooner). Mark Strong continues his streak of being in everything by voicing the main character, which is pretty cool. Either I'm just having trouble getting used to the controls or this game is pretty hard. On normal difficulty I was getting wiped out quite a bit.
