What games are you playing?

Right now I'm playing Gladius on the Xbox, Eternal Darkness on the GC, and I plan on starting Metroid Prime as soon as I'm done with either of the two.

Gladius was quite dissappointing I thought, have fun with Eternal DArkness, I love that game, especially the story.

Yeah...Gladius can get extremely boring at times. But I would give it an 8 out of 10 because Lucas Arts really put a lot of work into the different cultures, places, and character build-up of the game. They should have just made it a bit more cinematic.

i recently finished Icewind Dale.

that one is maybe even better than Baldurs Gate from the tactics point of view. not from the story point of view, but that is really not that what to expect of a computer game, anyway.

This week I have been mostly playing... Enclave.
A nice little (well 2 gigs worth of HDD space!) RPG/action game in 3rd person.

I'll post a reviews later in the week when I've explored a bit more. Damn good so far though.

I did go on a bit of a spree at the local bargain basement recently and got about 7 games or so.
All golden oldies like Deus Ex (£2), Devastation (£4), Real War (£5) Diablo (£4) and a Star Trek pack consisting of Armanda 1 & 2 and Voyager Elite Forces+Expansion Pack (£10).

Yes, I've found Gladius boring, not to mention hard. I'm almost done with Eternal Darkness, and my roommate just got PoP for the Xbox, so I'll probably play that when I'm done with ED.

Enclave is fun kahn, I've already posted a review though. :p I win. :D

Sorry Dom, I didn't see that one.:o
I sort of ignored it coz it was X-Box but nevermind.
Good review BTW and I agree with your rating.
The graphics and sound on the PC version were pretty stunning as I had them maxed. Great texture and lighting and nice use of surround sound to add to the environmemtal feel of the game.

I've been replaying Secret of MAna for the good old game boy, I've been searching for this game for months and happened to find it last night. I had forgotten how brilliant it is, still, after all these years, my favourite RPG.

O man, started playing Starcraft again, if you on Bnet, prepare to get OWNED by me. :D

Currently playing Call of Duty, Madden 2004, Morrowind and Temple of Elemental evil.

Madden is holding my attention currently since my team didn't make the playoffs. Gotta vent some frustration at the computer AI.

Well, I started Prince of Persia yesterday and finished it today, so I guess I'm back to Metroid Prime.

Right now I'm playing NHL2004, GTA: Vice City, and I suspect I might return to CivIII soon.

NHL2004 is one of the strangest games I've ever seen from EA Sports. The on-ice action seems really good, lots of attention put on AI, and few foolproof ways to score and such.

However, everything else in this game gives the impression that this is the first work of a company, which it is certainly not. The interface and graphics (not on-ice; everything else) are awkward, non-intuitive and ugly. The menus look like CM1, they seem to have been made at the last possible moment. For instance. there seems to be an abundance of "rooms", there is one screen for prospects, one for progress, one for contracts, one for trading, one for free agents and so on.

It's extremely disorienting, for instance, that the only two places (I'ce found) you can find out whether a player is injured or not, is the contract and the team reports page.

And the whole upgrade system in the dynasty mode seems very amateur-like.

But one thing that puzzles me, and really provokes me, is that it seems to me that the game, towards the end of periods and games, slow down the time if you're ahead, and speed it up if you're trailing. If that really is so, it sucks. I think I fractured my arm, hitting the desk after losing 6-5 to those f*cking Avs when I was in the lead 40 seconds from the final whistle.

In Vice City I am stuck. The only two missions I can choose present me with different obstacles. Maybe someone here can help. One is the one where I have to rescue Lance. I have succeeded in getting to him one or two times, only to be gunned down right after. I've tried driving in with cars and bikes, but nothing seems to help.

The other one is even worse. It's the mission where I'm supposed to plant a bomb at the Haitian factory. I plant the bomb, and run like hell, to the stairs just left of the entrance, which leads me to a roof and out of the compounds. But every time I cross from the ladder out to the roof, the timer just disappears, even if I have 25 seconds left, and it says I didn't get far enough away from the explosion. Is there something I'm missing?

Greetings

Lol, I agree Loras, there's ALOT of problems with that game, but I think that time slowing, is just you.

However, thats nothing a patch can't fix.

Hey Loras, I agree with that post on NHL 2004 although I think the AI for my teammates is still too weak. They do some of the most retarded things at times. This game was really a disspointment to me. Here's hoping 2005 brings a better version.

My roommate rented Armed and Dangerous, the game is f*cking hilarious, the cutscenes are just awesome! Anyone wanting a good laugh needs to check out Armed and Dangerous, though it's only for Xbox and PC. Also rented Deus Ex: Invisible War

Playing Planescape: Torment nowadays. Probably the most engrossing, atmospheric, cerebral RPG ever. Black Isle really shone on this one. Its a shame short-sighted Interplay has decided to shut them down.

Is Planescape: Torment that one dark fantasy style RPG with the dude on the front of the box that looks like Frankenstein? If so, that game looks absolutely awesome!

As for me, I beat Castlevania: Dracula X. It was a very good, enjoyable game, imo, as all the Castlevania games are. Somewhat short, maybe, but nevertheless very good.
I'm now playing Starcraft and a bit of the Jak & Daxter game for PS2 that my sister rented, it's a really fun game, but Daxter is so obnoxious and annoying that I just want to reach through the tv and strangle him to death! :D

I believe that is correct. It is simply the most innovative, flexible, replayable RPG I've seen. The main character, "The Nameless One" is an immortal trying to reclaim his lost memories. Your sidekicks are interesting and varied, from Morte the Floating Skull to a Fallen Succubus and even a Robot... The main character can never die and can in fact use his temporary deaths to further his goals, gain experience or achieve a quest. Pump up the intelligence and you can reason your way through quests; characters with low intelligence can just as easily fight their way through. The enitre game is peppered with intelligent dialogue and soaked, literally soaked with atmosphere.

Cool... back to the game. The Nameless One awaits...

sounds pretty cool actually.

Man, you're like the go-to guy for solid recommends lol

It is a truly cool game, very underappreciated.

Thanks for the compliment, btw...:)
