What's the last movie you watched (2010)?

Just watched Hot Tub Time Machine and it was quite funny. Kind of a cross between Back to the Future and The Hangover.
 
Law Abiding Citizen - it was entertaining but so much of it was beyond belief that I could not maintain my suspension of disbelief. And the whole end of the movie i.e. bringing an end to the murder and mayhem depended on an almost Deux ex Machina occuring via a last minute e-mail. This enables the till then hapless DA and police to outsmart the bad guy. Too bad b/c I like Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler but they cant all be Oscar Worthy can they?!
 
I totally agree about Law Abiding Citizen. The ending was a huge cop-out imo. Did they really need the law to win? they should have had some balls and had a controversial but awesome ending that didn't ruin the movie.
 
I saw Toy Story 3 today. I am going to give it a WOW. It was the perfect ending to the series. Some dark moments which had my 5 yo son freaked and had some very sad and poignant moments which had me crying like a baby. I thought it was wonderful. WOW.
 
Destination Moon and Project Moonbase , in one evening I watch Robert Heinlein's complete output as a screenwriter. As a screenwriter he makes a good novelist.

Zombieland was just ok. While Zombies are not my forte I dont seem able to keep them from invading my movie viewing. I was really looking forward to a Zombedy chock full of unique zombie dispatching techniques and scenes - it just did not go far enough. There were a few fun sequences in the movie especially "the rules" - my favourites being 1. The Double Tap and 2. Be on guard when you go to the can.

I particularly enjoyed Woody Harrleson's quest for a Twinkie. While the Bill Murray sequence was kind of boring.

So if it happens to be on tv and you have nothing to do give it a go - but dont go out of your way to seek it out.

Too bad - I sure did want some revenge on those undead monsters.
 
That's a bit of a shame, Daddy D. I've had it recommended to me a few times, but I think I'll just wait for it to drop in price a little more.
 
I watched Alice in Wonderland last night (the 2010 release by Tim Burton/Disney), and all I can say is "Oh dear".

It was quite poor for a Tim Burton film, I felt. I didn't buy Mia Wasikowska's performance as Alice, as everything she said seemed unnatural and fake (A great example is when she's first walked into Wonderland and she says "Curioser and curioser"). I also wasn't blown away by Anne Hathaway's performance, as something just.. grated with me. Matt Lucas was, in my opinion, one of the better performers in the film, with Johnny Depp also being quite good.

Another problem I had with it were the effects - They seemed overdone for the 'human' characters and at times they looked incredibly poor. I found it was quite common with Crispin Glover's character for the animation to look quite, well, fake. In regards to the anthropomorphic and/or animal characters (Cheshire Cat, the rabbits etc), the animations were fine, though.

Seemed to be just another "I'm Tim Burton, I'm going to put my wife and (possibly) best friend in a film, one which uses an existing setting and is then completely messed up in my usual oh-so-surprising way" film.
 
Finally got to see The Blindside and man did I ever enjoy it. It makes you feel good and gives you perspective on your life and what you have.
Loved it and Sandra Bullock is smashing.
 
Went to the show and saw Shrek Forever in 3-D. I am so tired of 3-D movies and 3-D televisions. The movie was rather sub-par as well.
 
Saw eclipse yesterday and it was as good as advertised. Fight scene's where cool. Have to say that Jasper really came into his own, in this movie. Volturi where creepy and evil as expected. And all that balanced the 'mush' , all and all this movie was better than the first two. :)
 
The Spy Who Came in From the Cold - early 60s spy stuff. 40 years later this bleak Cold War tale looks more alien and strange than a lot of modern so-called science fiction movies. I live in Britain, where a lot of the film is set, and even the London scenery looks like another planet.
 
New movies? Most recently ... Avatar. Yeah, I saw the parallels to a lot of other movies, but that didn't keep me from suspending belief and enjoying the action and the scenery. Some of the special effects truly blew me away.
On July 4 ... 1776. No it isn't science fiction or fantasy, just a remarkable take on a remarkable period of American history, not absolutely historically accurate, but the ideas - and ideals - were there.
Oh yeah ... and the new Star Trek movie. Definitely rewrites the Star Trek I knew in the 1960s, but that's OK. It opens the way for new generations to be exposed to Gene Rodenberry's dream.

It was a lot better than I was expecting, truth be told. It didn't really have the same Star Trek feel but it was still a great watch.
 
I thought it was a bit yeah! and a bit meh!

The long range transport knocked up in a few seconds and the Willy Wonka-esque engine room?????????????? Not impressed. However, enjoyed it overall.

Just seen X-Men Origins - Wolverine. Only £3 at the local supermarket. Pretty enjoyable although the IQ change between Sabretooth in XMO and in the original XM will need some explaining.:rolleyes:

Ha! I thought that too, at first, but then the whole thing was a little wonky, but fun. I enjoyed it despite all its faults. That's because...STAR TREK RULES! :D
 
Well, I attempted to watch Where the Wild Things Are but could not make it very far. I did not enjoy the kid playing Max and it was far too slow to keep my interest.

I hope when I head to the states that there are a few decent flicks out for me to check out.
