a broad landscaped thoroughfare

A broad landscaped highway, often divided by a planted median strip.

Had to go look that one up in a dictionary or two. The word isn't particularly common here on the West Coast. We just call 'em roads or streets and leave it at that.

Rocketsheep, feeling a little sheepish? Ewe shouldn't, really.

Don't think I ever posted on here. So here goes:

I live near Wesley, Iowa. Just think middle of nowhere. Only dialup internet access (we get 21.6 kbps) and nearest large town 30+ miles away. Nearest big bookstore (like a B&N) 75 miles away. Thank God for interlibrary loans.

Heh, I finally made my way out of the fantasy forum!

Just joined the thread a few days ago. I'm from New delhi, India.

Sheesh, seriously long thread. But what the hell...

I'm from southeast Asia, in the Philippines. Looking at the posts, it does seem like the highest number of people around here are Aussies/ New Zealanders, next are Brits, then Americans, then the rest (including me!) Anyone have the statistics on this?

I think that there are a handful of Asians around here though. 3 from the Philippines and a couple from Korea?

As for beer, normally don't drink the stuff but we have one of the best (supposedly because it has more alcoholic content than any beer in the world): SAN MIGUEL BEER!

*Hurrah! Hurrah!*

*Gets back to work before the slave overseer comes back from the bathroom*

Perhaps the Aussies and NZrs are just the chattiest?

I think that Aus are putting pressure on the US to take over the majority tho. Which is odd when you consider the difference in the size of the science fiction markets in the two countries. US is ten times bigger but maybe Australia makes up for it in passion.

er, uh, oh, hum.
The thread is so long, I didn't really care to read through it all.

I'm from Vienna, Austria (some people have confused this with Australia.. er..).
Actually, I live in northern Italy, but I study in Austria

I am from here. ="( I was over there once though, nice place. I'd like to make it there again, but funds withhold me from any foreign travel at the moment. Sometimes I do go though. Not to great a distance but enough to not be considered here. So I guess I do go there....sometimes.

Couldn't resist posting on this one! From Gothenburg (Göteborg)Sweden, and the danish just bought our brewery and closed it down. Recon they didn't like the competition!
