Ronja the Robber’s Daughter, an animated television series from Studio Ghibli, is scheduled to arrive on Amazon Prime in November.
Over the course of 26 episodes, the series follows Ronja, an adventurous young girl who explores a dangerous and captivating forest full of mythical creatures, makes friends with unlikely characters, and deals with her father’s profession as a professional robber.
The series is based on the 1981 fantasy book Ronja, the Robber’s Daughter by Swedish author Astrid Lindgren. Lindgren is best known in America for her character Pippi Longstocking.

The series is directed by Gorō Miyazaki and presented by the Academy Award-winning Studio Ghibli (Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle), and narrated by Gillian Anderson, best known for her work as Agent Dana Scully on The X-Files.
At the 2016 International Emmy Awards, Ronja won for Kids: Animation.
