I Just Bought (DVD)

Had a good day today. Picked up:

Batman - Two disc Special Edition
Batman Returns - two disc special edition
Batman Begins - two disc Deluxe Edition with 72 page Comic
The Amityville Horror - original
The Amityville Horror - remake
Kingdom of Heaven
Storm of the Century
Nip Tuck - Season 1
Land of the Dead - uncut version

Ordered Batman Begins Spec. Ed. and Revenge of the Sith off Amazon today.

I ordered Battlestar Galactica - Season One from Amazon.com. Decided to go with the Region 1, because the Region 4 version of this disc does not have the mini-series included in the set, commentary tracks nor the large selection of featurettes. I started watching the show on FTA here in Australia and was really enjoying it, but due to the late timespot I ended up missing the last half of the season. My girlfriend enjoyed it too, which means I have papal blessing for the purchase. ;)

I just grabbed:
Napoleon Dynamite
Heat
Ghostbusters 1 & 2 (it was a bundle, otherwise I probably wouldn't have grabbed 2)
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest

I'd forgotten how long a movie Heat was though!

Heat is SO good, I didn't even notice how long it was.

Ghostbuster 2 has some great lines, mostly by the one and only, Bill Murray.

Agree that heat is excellent, though it's far too long. Would it have made so much difference if all the Natalie Portman scenes were cut from the movie?

Anyway, my recent purchaces:
Batman Begins - Never got around to seeing it in the cinema despite waiting for over 2 years to see it -loved it.

Battlestar Galactica - mini + season 1. Not bad- It's just that I'd rather be watching B5/DS9. The mini does really well in setting scene, but the series just seemed like more of the same. BSG just seemed a little on the cold side (though I gather that's the idea). Will stay clear from the films/TV that try to capture the 9/11 'mood' in future (another example is 'The Village') as I just don't get it. As an alternative, that new captain scarlet box set looks tempting.

Chungking Express - above average, but I think this is one of those that grows on you with repeated viewings

Cube - I'm not convinced to be honest. It's alright, but nothing special IMHO

The Lost Weekend, Double indemnity - well haven't really had time to watch them yet.

Good buy, batman begins is awesome. I have recently bought The One, Romeo Must Die, Black Mask, Get Over It and X-files series 5, I have many on my 'to buy' list!

Batman Begins is fantastic, I also recently purchased the special edition DVD. Also just picked up Layer Cake.

Yeah, I'm gonna get Layer Cake, haven't seen it yet, but Guy Ritchie's films tend to be pretty good, and I wish to see the next Bond in action.

I know it's a bit early, but I can't resist...

Tomorrow, I buy Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith! Woohoo..

And I'm looking forward to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory next week.

Im going to buy Charlie and The Chocolate Factory as well. Loved it.
Also just got the Motorcycle Diaries. Love reading stuff on Che and heard it was a pretty good movie so I will probably enjoy it.

The new Charlie is a pretty attractive film.I might buy it as well when it comes out. It could keep my copy of the original company.:D

Pride and Prejudice
BBC miniseries from 1980-my fav version of the novel

Cool, Im going to go buy Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on the weekend. Are the special features any good?

Haven't watched them yet, but I bought the 2 disc special edition. On the first day, it was the same price as the 1 disc version. I saw something about 'learn how to dance like an oompa loompa', LOL. I hope there's something better than that on there.
