Need help remembering a Movie or TV show? Ask here.

I'm stumped trying to remember a film, so I guess it's time to throw myself on the mercy of this thread.

I believe this was a sci-fi or fantasy themed movie from the '80s or '90s. It might very well have been a prominent film. My problem is that the scene I'm remembering was not important, just a little futuristic "coloring" that wasn't vital to the plot at all, and I can't connect it to any movie in my memory. In the scene, a woman is tucking a little boy in to bed at night. In doing so, she switches on a sort of "dream program" for him, which is heard offering a selection of little-boy friendly dream scenarios, like an outer space journey, a cowboy adventure, etc.

Sound familiar to anyone? Thanks eternally for your expertise!

Could it be A. I. directed by Spielberg?

Not much to go on i'm afraid. i saw this as a kid in the mid to late 70's. could have been early 80's.

i remember 3 things
- there was a scene where the 'heroes' were running or driving through a desert. going down a sand dune the dune had a hidden door and they were captured by tentacles pulling them in.
- they drove a dark ( i believe dark brown ) trapezoid vehicle. a kind of hovercraft. basically a rectangular box with a sloping front and rear end. ( it kinda folded back on itself where it met the ground )
- there was an 'android' of some sort dressed in long dark brown or green robes wearing a silver or golden face shield. i believe he was partially human. i remember an episode where he finally revealed what was under the mask and he was horribly mutated due to radiation.

It's not logan's run that has a silver vehicle. but the show is set in the same kind of post nuclear world .i can't remember if they were chased . I don't think so. They were just seeking for other survivors i believe.
It's not 'the black hole' although the android looks similar to the 'converted humans' there.

Ark II or Otherworld pop in my head, but not sure...? Otherwise I would have suggested Logan's Run TV series too...

This has been bothering me for ages now but I can't remember this show from either the 80s or 90s where the could like travel into paintings or something the main characters were a teen boy and teen girl i distinctly remember that they had magical objects like belts or something. Hello,

I am looking for a kids movie I was watching probably 15-20 years ago.

There were different planets and races, space ships and battles. But it was kinda epic.. and scary. What was making it creepy was that all characters were puppets. I remember even back then I could see how most things are actually well-shot small figures. But it very well made. ..and I can't find it for years :(

Hi all,

I remember a strange TV show in the 80's that would have been on during the day. A boy befriends a weird brown creature that lives in a series of tunnels near his house. I think he was out playing and fell into a hole and met the creature in the first episode. I have been trying to find this show for years. I could just be crazy though. Anyone remember such a show?

Thanks,

Patrick

A couple more clues might help, Heliotropic. Was the show Animated? Live action? American, British, Australian?

Hello,

The show was live action and American I believe. It is not Stig of the dump, thanks though. The creature was brown and resembled a smaller Grimace from McDonald's. It was about the size of a human adult, brown and furry, and lived underground. It could have been a made for TV afternoon movie, but I think it was a series. I believe the main character boy, had trouble convincing his sister that it existed, until he showed her. Typical story line. My sister, a year younger than me, remembers the show as well. I have tried all kinds of google image searches of "1980's brown subterranean creature TV show", but haven't gotten a hit yet. I would immediately recognize a screen shot from the show of the creature.

Thanks

Your description made me think of Sigmund and the Sea Monsters.

Wow, that is amazing, but not my show. This has always nagged me but now that I am trying to find it and can't, I am becoming obsessed. I will continue my search and let you know if I have any luck.

Thanks

Who knew there were such options? This search demands it's own thread, possibly its own forum.
