What games are you playing?

Gabriel Knight: The Beast Within.

I spent most of this afternoon finding out how to download this PC game onto my Mac, having purchased it on Steam, so I could then transfer it to my tablet to run in SCUMMVM. Steam does not make this easy! I ended up following a long list of instructions from a forum on how to download it using Terminal command lines on the Mac. I was quite shocked: it's a 3GB game (huge for 1996!)

The good news is that it finally works. Its a full motion video game and it reminds me of using the Doomsday Laser Disc at school in the early 90s. Seems like it should be a fun adventure, though. I played Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers several years back, also an excellent game.

Y'know what never dies? This thread ha ha! Nice to see it pop up every now and then, and to revisit some old names.

Anyway, I've been hammering Cyberpunk of late (I love it, don't care about the hate), but my mainstays are Rocket League and Destiny. Just ordered a PS5 (finally) and will be looking at a gaming PC, but as a truck driver, it's still Marvel Puzzle Quest on my phone. And Star Trek Fleet Command.

f**k, I play too many games..

Playing some Minion Masters. Need someone to do 2v2 with if anyone wants to try it.

Fallout one… "WAR! War never changes….”
Running this in an emulator. On my iMac great game and after 30 years I have forgotten all the details so it’s like a new game
why these have not been recoded to run on iOS and android tablets and phones…. The owners of the ip could be raking it in.

I recently returned to Trainz 2019, a game abandoned a-year-and-a-half ago in favor of Train Simulator 2021. What brought me back to Trainz is the recent release of a total redo of the old Healesville route. This new route, VR Healesville 1913-1920, is visually lovely, possibly my favorite route in either Trains or Trainz from a graphical perspective. Due to my long Trainz absence, my driving skills had atrophied to near non-existence. I used the new Healesville to reacquaint myself with Trainz, deciding to capture a driving practice session for private, self-evaluation purposes. When all was said and done, I opted to publish the footage, driving warts and all. Here it is:

Playing Far Cry 6, COD Vanguard, and Halo Infinite multiplayer (Campaign from Dec 8).

I've been in the grips of a gaming-slump for some time. For good or ill, it finally seems to be weakening. I've recently driven a number of Train Simulator and Trainz 'quick-drives', creating a video of my most recent TS2022 drive. Here it is:

With my hand/writ rid of its brace, and finally recovered from an illness that has afflicted me since mid Dec 2021, I'm playing Train Simulator again. I documented a recent scenario, a milk delivery run in winter snow. Full-screen viewers benefit by watching it at 1440p, even on 1080p monitors. The higher resolution better withstands YouTube processing degradation, which can be annoying at times at the lower resolution:

Having dipped my toe into The Railway Detective book series, it's only fitting that I post a few screen captures from the Train Simulator scenario I drove this morning, Down Stopper, on West of England Mainline (route). The three-carriage passenger train is hauled by a London & North Western Railway (LNWR) T9-class steam loco, seen in British Railways lined-black livery:

Re-living yet another bit of my youth, playing Baldur's Gate 2 (via GOG) on Mac OS10.15, 20 years after I first did so on OS9.something.

Loved Baldur's Gate 2 and played it to death at the time. I've still got a Playstation copy somewhere. :D

Is anyone her w3orking on Fallout London? Since I play on either a Macintosh or an X box Series X I can't play as it seems to be for the PC Fallout 4 with all official DLC from Bethesda but the trailer sure makes it look interesting and a very high-quality fan project.

Didn't know anything about this, Windy. I usually play on an X Box One X, too, and usually get the latest news, but not for this. I was expecting Starfield from Bethesda later this year but seems its release has been pushed back to next year.

AC this looks like one of the major user group projects that are even redoing even fallout 1 and 2 in the fallout 4 engine so I doubt it will make it to Xbox

Leveled up 2 characters on separate servers in "New World". Good game with beautiful graphics. But since I mostly play these games solo, I ran out of content. Waiting on Amazon to launch another xpac.

Moving back to Everquest 2 to play their new expansion in the meantime.

Oooh another BG Fan. Loved that game to bits on my old p.c. Back then we used several CDs to install and play the game on CRT Monitors. Am eagerly waiting the release of BG 3 and am holding off buying the alpha version so I won’t get spoiled.

I occasionally play Diablo 3 and Lost Ark.

Love Baldurs Gate 2 :)

Though nowadays I tend not to play too many RPGs - too much of a time sink and I'd prefer to read a book if I want narrative.

Currently playing a few games on my switch depending on my mood:
Railroad Empire
Baba is you
Strange Horticulture

Still manage to keep it down to 1 game: Hearthstone. And only play classic HS and Battlegrounds. Bouts typically last from ca. 5-10 (classic) to 20-30 minutes (BG), so ideal for in-between diversion.
