Thanks, I'll check it out!If you liked that and don't mind staying with the British history then try An Utterly Impartial History of Britain by John O'Farrell. Light hearted but puts a totally different spin on many of the historical giants. It's subtitled Or 2000 Years of Upper-class Idiots in Charge.
I just watched Nowhere Boy last night, the film about John Lennon's teenage years. I thought it was quite good, which is high praise considering that I'm a die-hard Beatles and Lennon fan. I recently read his biography, and the film was quite accurate in most respects (although I think they slightly played up the sexual tension between John and his mother).
Also, I was totally surprised when I realized that John was played by the kid from Kick-Ass.
