Hulk

Tough one. I mean, I think every creator's dream is to see their creation shown in as many forms of media and entertainment as possible.

My perceptions of my favorite heroes are not screwed up when Hollywood messes with them.

I mean, I would LOVE to see Ghost Rider on the silver-screen, personally. Can you imagine how properly scary he could be?

Anyone remember the Punisher film? I know I've seen it but can't remember if it was any good or not. Was it Lundgren?

If so, must have been cack.

Solaar
loved the comic

Yep it was bad and it was Lundgren - I liked him in Rocky and He-Man everything else has been bad.

Cool twist! You kilt wearing barbarian who just happens to be scared of the standard office stapler! But I have a few that I would not want to see destroyed. I will of course start with my man Captain America. Sure I know he has already been butchered a couple of times with the one in the mid eighties being the worst by far!

Silver Surfer is another that I hope will be left alone, I just don’t think that CGI is far enough along to tackle this one, and the script would be very suspect from the beginning, if you know what I mean.

The Submariner is another one. Yes I know, I like him so feel free to ridicule me now! :D I just don’t want to seen a screen adaptation of this guy (I know they did one in the twenties!) I have always thought that there was something very mysterious and regal about the fish-man.

Okay that’s my two cents and if Fitz comes in disrespecting my choices then there is gonna be trouble inside the ranks of management!

Settle down there Oogle. I've always been a DC fanboy myself, but Captain America really deserves much better treatment.

I think one that could be done to great effect is
Green Lantern, it was even in pre-development back in the late 80s I think.

Nooooooo - more cgi = stupid, movie reliant on effects  I second silver surfer and add the JLA as a group.

Oh yes. A Captain America movie would be hot. The problem is his uniform....hard to make that look cool on the silver screen.

However, if they can do it with Spider-Man...

Well, Batman doesn't need to be saved from movies any more than he needs to be saved from JLA comics, they screw up his theme/ character just as bad IMO.

Ok just read this on the Hulk movie:

Chuck the Movieguy at Comingsoon.net witnessed a new trailer for The Hulk movie at ShoWest in Las Vegas today and reports on what was shown...

"I have no problem telling you that when the Super Bowl spot ran, I thought the CGI sucked on the hulk and looked very unbelievable.

After watching the new trailer I was blown away. It was freaking incredible. I have turned 180 degrees on this movie. The graphics were amazing. It was loaded with shots of Bruce Banner changing into the hulk and dozens of shots of the hulk from close ups to airial shots. This was the highlight of the reel and man did they get the character exactly as I remember when I used to read the comics. This could be bigger than the Spider-Man movie. My favorite shots were the Hulk picking up Jennifer Connelly and when the Hulk jumps off a cliff holding onto a helicopter. (Could have been an airplane, it happened so fast) Even the shots of the Hulk leaping what appears to be a mile were realistic (I mean believable).

We get shots of the dose of radiation that curses Banner, the lab, total destruction of an army after the Hulk, warm and fuzzy shots of the Hulk and Total mahem of practically everything in the Hulks path. I can't wait for this movie."

Well I for one will be holding my breath until I see the movie. I was very disappointed with the CGI Super Bowel trailer. But this new scoop gives me some hope. And Ang Lee is a brilliant director.

I'm going to wait for my girlfriend to get back from England, so probably next weekend! Can't wait, I think it looks good (for what it is!).

Personally, I firmly belive there hasn't been a good comic book film made yet! Here's to Ang Lee if he can pull it off!

Come on.... Not one?

Spiderman, in retrospect, I'd say was disappointing.

But X-Men's been pretty sweet. And the first Batman was good.

Jack Nicholson hurling money around to Prince music. Not my idea of a good time. Michael Keaton was the miscast of the century in my opinion! But we are all entitled to opinions.

The X-Men was a waste of time IMO also. I think they should have simply made a movie about Wolverine!

You're nuts. That scene was brilliant.

But with X-men, they needed a central character. There are too many characters to spread it all out evenly. And wolverine was a good choice, if you ask me. I'm not crazy about his character or even x-men in general (I prefer the more obscure comics like Lenore, Sandman, Bone, etc.), but he's an easy character to root for becuase his abilities aren't so outlandish. From a directors point of view, who must appease the general public, that makes a certain amount of sense.

As you say about opinions , I thought Micheal Keaton was the best of the Batmans !

I thought so as well. It might not have been the best casting for the part, but it was better than Clooney or Kilmer.

I have to say, that comment about "Jack Nicholson throwing money around to Prince music" made me laugh out loud. That was hilarious!

But I have to agree with the others, Keaton might have seemed like an odd Batman (I thought so too when it first came out), but he's MILES better than Kilmer or Clooney. Ugh. Plus, there was as yet no disgusting Chris O'Donnell to ruin the series.

Nor were there any cheesy references to the Batman TV series...
